Founded in 1923, Temple Israel of Catskill is a Reform Congregation where everyone is welcome.

Temple Israel of Catskill is a reform community in the Hudson Valley, whose energy and commitment is to genuine welcoming!  We are a diverse community of people from different backgrounds, ages, abilities, sexual orientations and styles of practice. We welcome everyone, knowing that everyone is - B’tzelem Elohim - created in the image of the Divine. Our dedication to genuine welcoming is a reflection and manifestation of our shared belief that coming together inclusively to sing our prayers and connect to the ancient traditions of Judaism, brings people to a unified place of strength, goodness and peace. We look forward to welcoming you to our community!

The Rabbi Pauline Tamari Memorial Library

Roberta Lipson & Ted Plafker, Rabbi Pauline’s sister and brother in-law visiting from their home in China to see The Rabbi Pauline Tamari Memorial Library at Temple Israel of Catskill.

“Temple Israel in Catskill has brought me back to my faith, not by dogma, but by creating a warm, inviting place to reflect on my life, my family and the world as it exists around me. When I walk in the door my shoulders relax and I instantly let go of the tensions created by daily life.”
