General Fund
Our membership dues cover only 30 percent of our expenses. Donations to our General Fund are critical to the functioning of our congregation, including updating and maintaining our sanctuary used for Shabbat, holiday, and festival services, and supporting the variety of social and educational programs we offer.
Honor
Honor life cycle events, simchas, accomplishments, friends, family, Temple Israel, wishes for speedy recovery, anything at all. Please indicate who/what you are honoring. Donations to this fund will support Temple Israel’s general operating fund.
Memory
A donation in memory of someone who is recently departed.
Yahrzeit
A donation made to mark the anniversary of the death of a family member. It is usually observed by lighting a candle the night before the anniversary date and by reciting the Kaddish.
Yizkor
The word means "remember" in Hebrew and is a memorial prayer for those who have passed. The prayer is recited four times a year - on Yom Kippur, the last day of Passover, on Shemini Atzereth, and on the second day of Shavuot.
Rabbi’s Discretionary Fund
This fund exists to help those in need and for the betterment of our community. When you give to this fund, it is at our rabbi’s discretion how to best pay forward your gift. Thank you in advance for becoming a partner in doing as many mitzvahs as possible.
The Samara Manger-Weil L’HADLIK Hebrew School Scholarship Fund
In memory of Samara who physically graced this world with love, light and laughter. This fund is one of the ways Samara’s mom fulfills her covenant to honor her by affording other children the opportunity to explore and be inspired by their Jewish leaning.”
